Highlighted Industry Partners

These industry partners of Texas A&M Engineering support our programs and help prepare the next generation of engineering leaders. See also our list of industry partners.

Barrett and Margaret Hindes Foundation

Dredging engineering students are cutting a new path at Texas A&M, thanks to a $400,000 donation from The Barrett & Margaret Hindes Foundation. The gift provides an endowed scholarship for upper class and graduate ocean engineering students and a fund to provide a scientific dredging carriage for the Center for Dredging Studies. The late Barrett Hindes was a highly respected dredging engineer and businessman. A fellow and trustee of the California Academy of Science, he served at one time as president of the San Francisco Bridge Co., a dredging business along the West Coast. Hindes was a director of numerous organizations including the Dillingham Corporation, Wells Fargo Bank and the National Association of River and Harbor Contractors.

Boeing Company

Boeing’s contributions to a five-year interdisciplinary curriculum at Texas A&M currently total $695,000. Now in its third year, the company-university partnership prepares engineering and business students to collaborate on real-world design and cost decisions. Student teams have developed and successfully launched an 8-foot-tall rocket known as T-BIRD (Texas A&M-Boeing Interdisciplinary Rocket Design). “We are extremely happy to participate and contribute financial support to these efforts. The interdisciplinary curriculum between the two colleges is a great opportunity for the students, and it more accurately represents what each of these students will face as they enter the workforce,” said Craig Campbell, Boeing’s director of Project Management and Analysis for Future Combat Systems Program.

CenterPoint Energy

CenterPoint Energy has established a $50,000 excellence fund in the Department of Industrial Engineering. The gift to help further the mission of the department was announced during a campus visit by Dean Liollio, Texas A&M Class of 1983, president and COO of CenterPoint Energy Entex/CenterPoint Energy Arkla, and Gary Cerny, Texas A&M Class of 1979, president and COO of CenterPoint Energy Minnegasco. Liollio and Cerny serve on the Industrial Engineering Advisory Council.
