Deborah A. Wilde-Osborne
Class of 2002, Mechanical Engineering
Deborah Wilde-Osborne received the Marshall B. Peterson Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in October 2004. She is the fourth recipient of the award, which was established in 1997 and conferred every other year. The award recognizes a young engineer for early-career achievement and promising research in the field of tribology, which deals with design, friction, wear and lubrication of interacting surfaces. Ms. Wilde-Osborne is a project engineer at Honeywell Engines, Systems and Services.   

Annette von Jouanne
Class of 1995 Ph.D., Electrical Engineering
Annette von Jouanne was honored as the Outstanding Teacher for 2005 at the Eta Kappa Nu annual awards dinner in New Orleans. Eta Kappa Nu honor society recognizes academic acoomplishment in electrical and computer engineers. Dr. von Jouanne is a professor at the Oregon State University School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She serves as co-director of the Motor Systems Resource Facility at Oregon State.   

Tom A. Blasingame
Class of 1982, PETE
Tom Blasingame was selected as one of 36 namesakes for Fish Camp 2004. Fish Camp receives over 100 nominations annually for potential namesakes who have contributed to Texas A&M in a positive way. Dr. Blasingame is an associate professor in the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M and holder of the R.L. Whiting Professorship.   

Joy C. Goode
Class of 1979, Nuclear Engineering
Joy's memory has been honored with the Joy C. Goode '79 Scholarship in Engineering. This award for women undergraduates was endowed by her husband, Jerry Davis, and mother, Bertha Goode. Ms. Goode was a TXU Electric senior engineer with specialties in licensing and quality assurance before her death in 2000.   

Susan M. Arseven
Class of 1975, Computer Science
The memory of information technology executive Susan Arseven has been honored with a scholarship for women undergraduates in computer science, endowed by her husband, Dr. Ersen Arseven '74. An active member on numerous high-profile boards and councils, Susan was considered a leading strategist in information technology and a dynamic force in positioning women for prominent roles in business. She passed away in 2000.   

Alberto Alemán Zubieta
Class of 1973, INEN and CVEN
Alberto Alemán Zubieta is the 2004 Texas A&M University Outstanding International Alumnus. As administrator of the Panama Canal, Mr. Alemán Zubieta is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency in the administration, operation and maintenance of the canal. The Outstanding International Alumnus Award is jointly sponsored by Texas A&M University and The Association of Former Students. Created in 1994, this award honors Texas A&M graduates who were not U.S. citizens while attending the university, but who went on to achieve prominence in education, the sciences, technology, agriculture, the arts, business, humanities or government.   

John A. Scott
Class of 1973, Industrial Engineering
John Scott was honored as an Outstanding Alumnus of the Department of Industrial Engineering at its Spring 2004 Banquet. Mr. Scott is president and COO of Parsons Corporation   

Joe L. Barton
Class of 1972, Industrial Engineering
Joe Barton will speak Dec. 17 to Texas A&M graduates and undergraduates in the George Bush School of Government, agriculture and life sciences, and business at a 7 p.m. commencement ceremony in Reed Arena. Congressman Barton was elected to his 11th term in the U.S. House of Representatives in November.   

E. C. "Pete" Aldridge
Class of 1960, Aeronautical Engineering
Pete Aldridge will speak Dec. 17 to Texas A&M graduates and undergraduates in architecture, engineering, science, veterinary medicine and biomedical sciences at a 2 p.m. commencement ceremony in Reed Arena. He served as Secretary of the Air Force from 1986-88 and as Under Secretary of Defense from 2001-03.   

Erle A. Nye
Class of 1959, Electrical Engineering
Erle Nye has been inducted into Texas A&M University’s 2004 Corps Hall of Honor. He is chairman of the board and former chief executive of TXU Corp. Mr. Nye is serving his second term as a member of the A&M System Board of Regents, for which he is a past chairman and currently serves as vice chairman.
