Giving Opportunities
Departmental Campaigns and Major Projects
A number of formal campaigns currently under way in the Look College
address specific needs.
Chemical
Engineering Campaign
Jack E. Brown Engineering
Building: This new chemical engineering building, which opened in Fall 2004, brings together the entire department, previously located at various sites. The seven-story structure is prominently positioned at the corners of University and Spence streets and offers state-of-the-art laboratories and teaching facilities as well as new departmental headquarters.

Reta
and Bill Haynes ’46 Coastal Engineering Laboratory: This
new $6.0 million laboratory was dedicated in spring 2003. Its towing
tank has a high-speed carriage for towing, a wave maker capable
of generating 2-foot waves and a sediment pit to allow scour and
dredging studies. A three-dimensional wave basin is used to simulate
wave and currents that are used in flooding, shore protection and
navigation studies. For more information about giving opportunities,
